At Elmridge we recognise that positive wellbeing and good mental health is vital for our students’ happiness and achievement. There is an explicit focus on this within our PSHCE and Physical Education curriculum, and within Collective Worship, as well as more widely with nurture groups, the daily mile, school nurse drop-ins, extra-curricular activities, trips and visits, and in the everyday ethos and work of the School.
We know that everyone experiences life challenges that can make us vulnerable and at times, anyone may need additional emotional support. We take the view that positive mental health is everybody’s business and that we all have a role to play.
The aim of this area of the website is to provide links to good quality information and guidance on mental health and wellbeing. We encourage students and parents with any concerns to get in touch with us.
We are fortunate to work very closely with our School Nursing Team.

Trafford Sunrise provides support for children aged 5-12 years in coping with stress, learning how to relax and promoting emotional wellbeing. Children are able to access group sessions where they can develop their coping skills. This includes increasing emotional resilience, learning coping strategies, and increasing self-esteem and social engagement. Workshops are available for parents to talk and share ideas with other parents. You will be able to find out more about your child’s mental health and wellbeing across a variety of topics: including anxiety and behavioural problems.
